Champions guide to blogs Pt 4

Part 4: Monetizing your Blog

Ok so now you have good quality content on your blog and you now have good quality visitors from all the traffic you are getting but you are not making money?? Well it is not gonna fall off the trees like we would like so I will tell you of a few ways to make Moola (money) from your website.

So let`s turn all that traffic into Money…Google Ad sense  is an easy way make money online. If you visit Google Adsense.com you will get a complete run down of the program that they offer. Once your visitors have finished reading your blog they will probably leave and if you have a strategically placed Ad that is relevant and what they like they will click onto that link. So in order to place your Google ads in the right places, and so that they look more like links and not like advertisements consult the Google Ad sense support page to see the heat map of your blog, which is where you can see where the most activity is.

Once your Google account is up and running you can change the colours of your Ad texts and links. What you really want to do is get them to match your website so that they don’t stand out but look part of the blog.

Affiliate Marketing as done with Clickbank.com can also be implemented on your blog. You can post other peoples products onto your blog and in return if the customer buying that product you get a commission.  You can either write a review on that product if that’s what your blog is about or you can place logo`s or banners on your blog/website with an appropriate link to their website.

If your visitor clicks and purchases the product, the merchant will track from the link that the purchase is referred by you, so they will send you your share of the profits. Imagine if 1 out of every 100 visitors you get purchases this product, and you earn $34.00 commission from each purchase! If you get 10,000 visitors a month you would earn $3,400.00 for writing about ONE product or having and displayed. Ha ha Now I’ve got your attention.

So before you run off I need to tell you were to find affiliate programs related to your Niche, just go to Google and search for <your niche> +”affiliate programs”. Another way is to go to associateprograms.com/search to look for affiliate programs in your niche.

Other ways to monetize your blog is to use other advertising companies like Chitika (chikita.com). Chitika is a very innovative contextual advertising program because it can serve very detailed advertisements for you particular product.

Another way is to become affiliates to the likes of Amazon, with Amazon you can target your specific niche or you can send traffic to the main website and receive a 10% referral fee.

The ultimate prize in monetizing you blog is to get lots of page reviews a day so in other words lots and lots of traffic. If you get 10 000 visitors a day you could approach companies and selling advertising space on your blog. Popular blogs like these www.pharside.co.uk and 2oceasvibe.com attract a vast amount of traffic so they can sell advertising space.

If your blog has not acquired large amount of visitors yet, you can still sell ad space on your blog on a, per click or per impression basis. Just visit sites like adbrite.com

To view the amount of traffic to your website I recommend you visit this site statcounter.com there you will be able to see how many visitors per day you had and the duration the stayed on your site. There are various other options you can get from that site that will help you in your venture to a wealthy blogging career.

Introduction to Blogging: Top 4 Benefits of Owning a Blog

This is an introduction to blogging.Blogging is a very effective marketing tool and the cost is low. With a blog, you can create a safe place and build trust, branding and position yourself, build your list and build equity with network marketing articles. Let’s chat about each of these benefits in more detail.

1. Provide “Safe” Place and Build Trust

So what do I mean by a “safe” place. It is a place where they (your target market) can:

  • Read valuable subject matter
  • Read the “about me” and get to know more about you
  • See pictures of you and/or your children
  • Get a sense of who you are before filling out their contact information for your lead capture

Not to say you won’t use your lead capture in your marketing. This is just a place for people who are riding the fence can get to know you better. Now you are building trust.

2. Branding and Position

Branding is basically the persona that you put out to the market. It is the difference between looking professional and looking like a leader, knowing what you are doing and having a real business v.s. looking like you don’t know what you are doing to put it nicely. Brand yourself by using your name for your blog domain name.

Branding is the Key!

Position yourself as an expert to your market. Think about going to a bookstore and you see people’s reaction to the authors of books. They typically view those authors as experts. If you wrote a book then you must be an expert on that topic. That is our cultural assumption.

Good blogs are pretty much the same as a good bood. Not just your average everyday blog, but when you land on a blog that really gets your consideration, then it is just like reading a good book in term of respect for the author.

3. Build Your List

Owning you own blog will intensify your list building efforts. This is because you are:

  • providing a “safe” place and building trust
  • possess a great professional branding and positioned yourself as an expert

You will get more leads into your list, chiefly with social networking. Social networking sites like facebook and twitter, for example, you do not want to send people directly to your lead capture page. It is going to be more effective to send people to your blog first (a “safe” place, build trust and show what kind of a leader you are).

You will show your awesome web presence; and, they will want to follow you.

4. Build Equity

Building your website overtime, let’s say a post a week or even a post a day, you will have oodles of posts on your blog that are worthwhile for prospects to read. This is prime real estate for you. More people will want to join your list and you can then monetize that list.

Your blog will be producing traffic, home based business leads, and have good google ranking. It is going to be a very real piece of virual real estate that you own and it is going to provide payback for your work from home company.

The internet provides many sites to host your blog; however, there are precautions. You will need to set aside a small budget (no more than $10/month) for hosting of your blog.

You may ponder — I’ll just use a free service such as Blogger or WordPress. The problems with these types of free sites is that you do not own your blog. You will lose all your content if these sites shut down for any reason.

With a small budget, you can get your site hosted through GoDaddy.com or Hostgator.com. You will own your own blogand if you chose to change hosting company, you will have access to all the files to be able to transfer to your new hosting site.

There are many additional benefits for owning your have blog; however, I want to keep this as simple as possible. Master this model and watch your traffic explode and your list increase.

Credit Card Debt Help – How To Erase Your Mountain of Debt

If you need help with credit card debt, you are definitely not the only one. Even if you owe so much it is making you feel like you have a big heavy weight on your shoulders, do not despair, there is a way out. There are many others like you in just the same boat, and many have gone on to become debt free or close to it.

It doesn’t really matter how you ended up with all the credit card bills. Whether you charged only during emergencies or whether you just went on shopping sprees, or perhaps you just had some large purchases for the house you needed to make, it all adds up to lots of unsecured debt with (most likely) high interest rates. People get used to living above their means when they are using credit often, and this always leads to a big pile-up of bills that you eventually have a hard time paying.

These companies kind of put you in a vicious circle. They give you a bunch of credit and then when you charge it all up they raise the interest rates making it impossible to pay down the balance, so you have to charge further just to stay afloat. Okay well maybe it’s not impossible to pay it off, but it sure takes a long time just paying the minimum amount. If you sit down and really figure out how much you will be paying over the next 10 or 15 years (or more) you will probably be sick at the thought of all that wasted money. Just think how much you could be saving if that money were going to a savings account rather than to credit card debt.

But as I said, many others have paid off their debt and you can too. There is help to be found, and that is in the form of debt consolidation. Now, I am not referring to a loan at this time because in my opinion this is not the best way to go. I speak from experience. I have tried it both ways, and the straight debt consolidation is the way that works best. The reason being that if you get a loan and then you end up charging up your cards again, you will be much worse off than when you started.

So what you should do is find a reliable consolidation company, fill out their short initial questionnaire, and see if they will be able to give you a hand. If so, what they will do is take over paying your debts for you individually, while you simply pay them one monthly (much lower) payment. This allows you to get that debt paid off in a timely manner, usually about 2 or 3 years, as opposed to just paying on them forever and never getting anywhere.

Don’t be scared, this is a great way to get some peace of mind. Your credit score will end up going up much higher as well.
